D'après cette coupure de presse (Telling letters of Auld romantic - The Stage du 7 février 2002), Matthew Macfadyen a joué dans la pièce radiophonique Not the End of the World, diffusée le 23 janvier 2002 sur BBC Radio 4.
Matthew Macfadyen and Rachael Gleaves played a post separation couple in Not the End of the World (R4, Wednesday, January 23), which was an interesting indictment of cosy house husbands and defence of the working mother.

L'auteur de la pièce s'appelait Simon Smith (voir ici à la date du 23/01/2002), il est décédé le 18 juin 2002 (voir la nécrologie dans The Independent du 29 juin 2002).
His critically acclaimed radio play Not the End of the World was broadcast by Radio 4 earlier this year. They too had commissioned a new play from him.
