As for Pillars of the Earth, Redmayne says, 'This is the biggest project I’ve worked on in terms of the scale of the set. Three-quarters of a 12th-century cathedral has been built in a field in Hungary. It’s incredible. It is an amazing cast to be working with as well, including Hayley Atwell, Matthew Macfadyen, Donald Sutherland and Ian McShane. People who know Pillars from the novel are very passionate about it. The characters kind of get under their skin.’

Well, I finished 'Raw' on the Friday and on the Monday I was out in Budapest filming a thing called 'Pillars of the Earth'. I was out there for nearly six months. So that was a big, big job. It's a four-part mini-series, four 2-hour episodes, called 'Pillars of the Earth', set in the 12th Century, a big epic costume drama... So that comes out, I guess, in October of this year.

En 2009, A. Taubman a passé une bonne partie de l’année à Budapest et Vienne sur le tournage de l’adaptation du best-seller de Ken Follett « Die Säulen der Erde » (Pillars of the Earth / Les piliers de la Terre), sous la direction de Sergio Mimica-Gezzan. Parmi les stars internationales à l’appel, des producteurs comme Ridley et Tony Scott, Rola Bauer, David Rosemont ou David Zucker. Il s’agit du plus grand événement TV jamais réalisé. La série sera diffusée dans le monde entier dès l’automne prochain.
